This site is to being awareness to the insane practice of shackling women who are in labor. Read the stories here and add your comments. Please support this site for all women and children world wide. This site is also for all women prisoners, and issues concerning women in prison. My name is Dee, and I am active in all issues of prison reform and abuses.

My Interests

Prison rights for women. Childbirth is a miracle, a miracle from God. The baby is completely innocent. How can we in a society that shuns abuse to women, shackle a women in labor. This could cause great discomfort on top of the already agonizing pain. This could cause complications for the woman and or baby. Surely this woman is not going to try and escape in the condition she is in. There are other methods of securing the inmate. This practice is insane and needs to be stopped. Amnesty International has a campaign to stop Shackling women http://www.amnestyusa.org/women/custody/ read about it here.

I'd like to meet:

Everyone who thinks it's wrong to shackle women in labor please comment here. I'd like to meet like minded people, activists, people interested in prison reform, womans rights, people against the death penalty. But on a personal level I would like to meet the Dali Lama, and if they were alive today, John Lennon, Nostradames, Edgar Cayce, Kahlil Gilbran.THIS WOMAN WAS IN A COMA, SO WHY DID THEY HAVE TO SHACKLE HER TO THE HOSPITAL BED?
