I'd like to meet:

Wait--have I not met everyone yet?

Tired of people constantly in your way an' stuff? You can probably relate to relate to my One MoFo Theory .

A new year, a new project. Looking back at sketches, notes, and doodles from the Corcoran years—a decade later.

Happy Holidays! Our 2006 holiday card. I don't have everyone's address,
so print one out, write your name on the gift tag, and let's just pretend
that it came in the mail, mmkay?

And remember--giving is greater than receiving. ;)

The 6-year anniversary of 9/11 is here.
Just a little something to remember those we lost that day.

The Little Family® started off as a simple postcard illustration. LittleFriends® were fictional toys of myself, the wife, and the dogs.
I soon discovered that there are quite a few possibilities with the theme, and now I just have fun with it. :)

The Little Family® became extended in March 2006—with the addition of Fergie, our Boston Terrier rescue.
Naturally, she needed her own figure. Heck, everyone should have their own figure.

You can read about my developing book project "Have Safety Instructions, Will Travel" here;
and please keep stealing--err, saving those airline safety cards for me, all you frequent flyers.
I appreciate each and every contribution. Remember, you can just slip it into your carry-on bag;
you don't actually have to make a big dramatic exit. ;)

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------

More people should embrace history, and get tight with it. As a designer, I've always been fascinated by
merging the old with the new; the stately with the streetly. And I've always been a Lincoln buff. Abe's the man.

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------

I never understood boring, formal moving announcements.
I mean, if you're gonna move, announce it. ;)
Our 4x6 postcard is both relevant and functional—
with an MTA Transit-style map on the back providing directions.

Designing the announcement. It's probably the only part of moving I enjoy. :)

If you're an indie film fan + you haven't already done so,
you really should check out 19W.com .

19th & Wilson, Inc. is an independent film group I'm proud to be associated with.
I'm fortunate to have free reign over all aspects of graphic design, and damned if
I don't rule with an iron fist. :) In actuality, it's a wonderfully laid back group of
close friends who entrust the graphic identity of their craft—and in effect, the
public face of the company—to me, and I'm grateful to have that chance to contribute.

------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------

We recently filmed a very creepy short titled The Haunted Doll,
based on the phenomenon of—you guessed it—haunted dolls.
Try searching eBay for "haunted doll" sometime; there are some interesting stories.

My initial vision for the film's poster:

Have you seen TechFellas on iFilm yet? I actually had a cameo in episodes 3 + 4,
but I won't be quittin' my day job. :)
TechFellas is an exclusive parody of GoodFellas, set in an I.T. office environment.
It stars John Waldron, Demetrius Parker, and Phil Piruzzi Filsoof. I'm also particularly
fond of this little project because it came about as a result of my frequent, bantering
emails with director and co-conspirator Eric Espejo , himself a huge Martin Scorsese fan.
He and I essentially concocted this thing over a few drinks, after making countless parallels
between our own day jobs and our favorite gangster flick. The translation is pretty amusing,
I'm proud to say. ;)
I had a great time designing the website , as well. Fuhgeddaboutit!

Become "A Friend of Ours" while you're at it--visit the TechFellas MySpace page!

19W is amassing a decent body of work! In addition to the logo + brand identity,
here's a sampling of stuff I've put together for 19W, representing some of the projects
we've undertaken in the past couple of years.

I won't purport to be an "actor" by any means, but I did enjoy playing a royal prick
in the infamous techie short I.T. Never Ends. —one of 19th & Wilson's very first efforts.
And I definitely appreciate all the props from those who actually do I.T. work for a living. ;)
Admittedly, I know jack about PCs. I work on a Mac. :P

Hmm... I wonder if the guys ever noticed that the "staff badge" I designed
for the part didn't exactly have my photo on it?

Oh well... :)

The Caretaker was written and produced for the Washington, DC
leg of the 2006 48 Hour Film Project.

It's a sci-fi short, so I wanted the poster to have a surreal,
unsettling quality--without giving anything away.

Bunnyman Bridge is another creepy tale—one inspired by a Northern Virginia
urban legend. This one will be a feature-length film, and I'm looking forward to
flushing out an extensive website for it. I've had a sneak peek at the story, and it's
quite different than folks might expect. ;) I'm psyched.

The Department is our latest viral video project, which just wrapped filming in late February.
A parody of Scorsese's The Departed, it's set in an office environment with managers
and techies substituting for cops and gangsters, respectively.

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------

I recently designed the logo for NASFA®, the North American Sports Fan Association.
They're organizing to become the definitive, collective voice for the everyday fan--
and have already begun to receive support from professional groups
such as the NFL Players Association.

Check out their MySpace page, and join!

How about a nice big cup of BLADOW!®
This guy is a coworker of my good friend Aaron Goodmiller:

Aaron has never actually met him. He did, however, come across this awesome photo
of him on their company's intranet--and realized that it would be perfect for BLADOWing
other coworkers.

If you're unfamiliar with the concept of BLADOWing, it's simply the act of sending
a BLADOW to someone via an email--with a photo like this, along with the following notice:

You have been BLADOWed. If you feel you have been wrongfully BLADOWed, tough.
A BLADOW cannot be taken back once it has been applied.

When I saw the photo (after receiving a BLADOW), I knew I had to up the ante.
I designed a more effective BLADOW, which we then put on t-shirts for his whole office to enjoy.

Now, you too can sport the BLADOW shirt of your choice.
So BLADOW! Let the games begin!

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------

Until this point, I could never say that I'd designed a logo and patch for a motorcycle gang.
Well, I don't know that "gang" is the right word, but Capital Area Monsters is a club--and they ride
some bad ass Ducatis. 19W's Donnie Conty asked me to work up a logo based on the vintage biker
look, but incorporating the Ducati wings and logo. Patches are being manufactured, and I have to say,
they're pretty awesome.

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------Toys are fun.
'Specially my toys.

Music:

I've been listening to a lot of "A's" and "B's" lately--Ashton Allen, Lily Allen,
the Arcade Fire, Badly Drawn Boy... It all depends on the mood, and the mood changes frequently.
