Stuey's version of the story:
Smashed! started with a hangover...
...me and Si after a big night out in san seb talking about the drunken antics of the night before. Reckoned san seb nightlife rocked but that it was lacking something...a pub crawl! as soon as we mentioned it we looked each other in the eyes and said "what the fook...why dont we set one up!".
Had a talented artist around...the beloved Dave... and organised a few of the flyerers for the bars to go out one day and try sell some tickets. Really wasnt expecting to pull it off! 4pm came (pub crawl due to start at 8.30pm) and we had sold all of about 5 tickets! We figured that we would probably have to cancel, give people money back and say to ourselves "oh well, at least we tried!".
We told the flyerers to go out to give it one last crack for a couple of hours. They came back at 8pm and we added up the tickets to see how many we had...there was over 50!!! Me & Si looked at each other and said "fook...this is going to happen...we had better figure out what we are going to do tonight!".
We went to McDonalds to have a business meeting over a Big Mac and asked ourselves "do we know of any good games to do on the crawl tonight? How do we organise this thing!"....the chaos had begun!
But Smashed! has already been about madness with some sort of method (although many struggle to see the method part to Smashed!!!!) It turned out that we had around 70 people, and the night was a wicked success!!!
We struggled to think of a name for us though...we originally just called it Fiesta Pub Crawls...we knew it was boring but couldnt think of anything better. It wasnt until the day after the first pub crawl of the following summer, sitting around having a beer with the crew talking about how smashed we got the night before...SMASHED!...that's what this is all about...and so SMASHED! was born.
Thus, date of birth ie.1st pub crawl (about 5th august 2001, date of christening SMASHED! ie.naming was about 25th June 2002.
gonna have some lunch now...ah, the memories!

Dave's version of the story:
SMASHED! began it's epic beginnings in 2001 when Simon met Stuart. At first these two mad doctors of mahem wanted to build a spaceship. Then they thought that might be an unrealistic goal, so they decided to rob a bank. After two failed robbery attempts they got drunk on cheap wine and had a yelling contest.
SMASHED! had it's first pub crawl in San Sebastian, where the beer flows like wine. Naturally, it was a hit!!! They befriended a homeless man named Dave who drew a cartoon for the t-shirts and flyers. Dave sucks! The rest of that summer was full of fantastic pub crawls.
The next year SMASHED! got busy in Barcelona. SMASHED! showed up as a towering Godzilla reeking of schnapps and rocked everyone's world, with minimal damage to the actual city of Barcelona.
