About Me

Once you experience Chrissi Poland, you will never forget her. Her soulful 4-octave vocal, precise studio skills, and electrifying stage presence and intense musicianship propel this artist to the top of the game. After studying musical theater for a year at the Boston Conservatory, Chrissi began her intense study of writing, arranging, and performance at Berklee College of Music, where she was quickly recognized as a top talent. Her session career began while still in school, writing and performing tracks for "One Life To Live", "All My Children", and HBO's "Soulfood". After moving to New York, Chrissi’s work as a session vocalist/writer continued to grow. Her studio credits include work for Denise Rich (the album “Hitbound” as a featured vocalist); writer/producer Francis Gallucio (as the voice for the theme song to Bravo's new reality show, "War Of The Wives", which aired in the fall of 2006); New York Songwriter’s Circle founder Tina Shafer (pitch for new songs, 2007 Celine Dion album); multi-platinum recording artist Moby (featured vocalist on Moby’s 2008 major label release “Last Night”).Live performance credits include background and lead vocals with legendary Stax artist Sam Moore (tours, Japan and Canada, NBC’s TODAY Show); Moby, (rock band, The Little Death, lead and background vocals); world famous drummer Dave Weckl (lead vocal, NAMM, Yamaha Groove Night). Other live credits include performance with Steely Dan, Steve Smith (Journey), La La Brooks (The Crystals), Ritchie Cannata and Liberty DeVitto (The Billy Joel Band), Jimmy Buffet, Shawn Pelton (Saturday Night Live), Tommy Bowes and Brent Carter (Tower Of Power), Joel Rosenblatt and Julio Fernandez (Spyro Gyra), and Vinny Valentino (George Benson, Vital Information). Continued credits of note include several performances of the National Anthem for the Boston Red Sox, tours with the Benny Goodman Big Band Orchestra, and a win at the legendary Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night in Harlem.Chrissi’s ability to captivate her live audience is as immediate as it is powerful. She has brought her original music to many of New York’s favorite live venues, such as the Bitter End, The Cutting Room, The Rockwood Music hall, and The Blue Note. Original recording credits include Chrissi Poland LIVE from The Bitter End; Christmas single “I’ll Think Of You On Christmas”. Chrissi currently understudies the lead vocal role for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, which tours nationally during the Christmas season. Without a doubt, this vocalist/performer is a cut above the rest.WATCH!! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=chrissi+poland

The Crash

It's not the bare trees, the muddy brown puddles, or the screeching sirens. It's not the smog-infested sky, the weak attemps of the sun, or the discomfort of being bitch-slapped in the face by 20 mph ...

Beauty

Another day in paradise... I've eaten more bread and cheese in the past two weeks than I have this whole year. I'm down to SPF 4 (I started at 30 when I arrived)... I know, skin cancer, blah blah blah...

Healing hands

Even when it's raining here, it's perfect. It's the kind of inviting rain that suggests a walk, even a swim. When it rains here, people don't run for cover...they just keep on walking, talking, swimmi...

All roads lead to Bleecker St... even in the Carribean

Scooters and hooters....

I truly believe that breasts must have less of an impact on the men of St. Barth's (or any topless-beach location) than in the U.S. I've watched men have full conversations with topless women on the b...

I am sitting in an open-air internet cafe at the moment. Picture this: high atop a mountain, an italian cafe with French West Indian decor; bamboo furniture tucked among palms, ferns, lemon trees. Sti...
