A new beginning

About Me

Layout by: My Layouts CreatorHuman Decline began in 2000 when Richie Latoni, John Cosenza, Danny Cymbal and Thomas Houtas decided to pick up where their former projects Enemy Within, and Human Fraction left off. Their mission was to create a tech metal project with a NYHC influence. When Anthony Tantuccio (Tooch) joined the band on vocals they began to start attacking the local scene. Many shows passed with local bands like Vext, Forcefed, The Murdersuit Fiasco and some international acts like Napalm Death and Soilent Green. Two Demos were tracked and then in 2003 some personal issues forced Tooch to leave the band.Tom Vext (now front man of Divine Heresy) recommended Chris Inserra to fill the vocal position. Chris came into a rehearsal and something felt right. The band was now complete. From 2003 until around 2005 Human Decline played a lot and released the HDEP. Shortly after that Thomas Houtas left to pursue his career.HD then brought in Vincent Castiglia a long time friend and artist. Vincent added a new dynamic to the band with deep lyrics and raw technical rhythms. This new combination of HD’s already punishing style and a new darker element forged the making of Remedy For the Living. Songs like Born Dead, Dies Irae, and Deviated Mortal Frame now pushed HD to a different level. 2004 was a great year for the band playing many shows with bands like the Skinless, Superjoint Ritual, and Full Blown Chaos and working on the Remedy EP.In 2006 Remedy was released but the band had lost some steam. With pressures of careers on their heads and other pursuits and dreams weighing on them Danny Cymbal, Vincent Castiglia, and Chris Inserra decided to leave HD.They played a final show at 3rd Rail in Brooklyn in NOV 2006.Richie and John decided to keep the band going and started auditions to fill Danny and Vincent’s positions. Luckily not much time had passed before they Found Fritz Matrascia and Scott Brown. Fritz was a local guitarist that was searching for the right project and finally found it. A good friend and colleague of John’s, Dan Hegarty recommended Scott, the former bassist for The Murdersuit Fiasco and Blind Insight was looking to get back into playing. The Murdersuit had played several shows with HD so Scott fit right into the style and the band was almost complete.During 2007 HD basically became a studio band rehearsing and writing like crazy as well as auditioning vocalists. A few contenders came through and made some impressions but HD was set on anyone and was in no hurry to rush into anything.By a twist of fate Chris Inserra who has been assisting HD in writing some of the newer material decided to rejoin in March 2008. He had been working with them all along until another singer would be found however that singer happened to be him.Now HD is about to hit the studio to record 3 new tracks that they have been working on during the year. We hope you all keep checking back to follow the outcome of this saga and to hear the new tunes we have cooked up that we are very proud of.-Human Decline 2008
