Profile Edited by MPS MySpace Editor 2.0Starting at the end of 1999 and beginning of 2000 with just Mafe (guitar) and Remy, (vocals) playing covers at their houses, with the idea of making a band, trying to find the right people. Kind of hard since we were new in this town. Finally, in 2002 Omar ("Da Pingaz" of Puerto Rico) joins us on the drums and we create "Los Greenkardz". After that, beginning of 2003, Memphis Mike ("Fighting Chance" of Baltimore) completes the band on the bass; and in october 2004 we record our first Demo (cheap recording though) with 8 songs. That's the first line-up we had, didn't last long enough. The next year, Omar and Mike leave the band for different reasons and Mafe and Remy go back to the basics. Going through different members, it is in 2006 that we find the most solid line-up so far, with Camilo (Bass); Leo (Drums); and, last but not the least, Jose (2nd guitar); with a heavier and more complete sound. We just re-recorded 4 songs in June making our second demo "Miami Oi! machine", a much more professional recording (and packaging). Our original songs are 99.9% in Spanish, and are about the war in Iraq, poor children, our love for football (soccer), pride in our heritage, immigration, violence, etc. We are a political band, meaning we touch social issues not political parties. Do not misunderstand that, we are not right-wings or leftists. In other words, we are neither racists nor terrorists! We talk about real things, and sometimes reality hurts. In addition, we love music, we like to play shows, go to shows, get drunk and hang out with the lads as much as you do. But besides that, music or songs should be an action that creates a reaction. It should be the beginning to start doing positive things either for yourself, your kids, your family, or whatever you think will make an impact or change in your life. Music should be a motivation that makes you want to get up from your seat and kick life back at its fucking face.
Just to finish, we would like to truly thank all the bands that have shared stage with us and booked us in their shows, creating an extra spot so we can play. Especial gratitudes to all the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale rock bands for, as Cuban Frank says, "making Miami beautiful." Cheers to all of you!Oi Oi!!!
