The Inner Banks

Music for headphones & roadtrips

About Me

Based in Brooklyn, NY, the Inner Banks began as a home-recording project by composer David Gould, who by 2005 was ready to break away from the traditional Americana-inspired music hed been playing for five years with his band, The Bootleg Remedy. Not long after starting to track some new pieces, he brought in singer Caroline Schutz of Folksongs for the Afterlife, with whom he had played in several bands (and to whom he was by then married). Caroline's voice and the musical contributions of other talented friends (such as Greta Gertler, Yusuke Yamamoto, Jim Mansfield, Dave Yantorno, Michael Gomez) added the final touches to the Inner Banks first set of songs. Live the band also often features David Nagler, Mike Quoma, Catherine Bent and Claudia Chopek. The debut CD was released December 5, 2006.
