About Me

Folksongs For The Afterlife started in 1996 as the project name under which Caroline Schutz (now Gould) made her first 4 track recordings. She was introduced to Chris Sizemore a little while after that by a mutual friend who knew of their shared interested in pairing samples, drum loops and synthesizers with the acoustic instrumentation and minor key melodies found in some British and American folk music. In 1999, their first (self-titled) EP was released in the UK on Enraptured. Over the next few years they started incorporating more live drums and electric guitars into their recording. Steve Toole (electric guitar) and David Gould (bass) joined the band in 2002. In 2003, Parasol Records released FSFTA's first full length album entitled "Put Danger Back in Your Life".They are currently working on their 3rd album.
