The world has lost another musician to Heaven! My mom passed on this weekend. She initially taught me piano, voice and general music since I was 4. She had a band in the 40's and played at the local dance halls. She met her husband, my dad (trumpet), and the rest is here, or you could call it my history. They played in the William Penn Hotel and many other big band halls. She was so inspirational for me to get the Melody Shop. She thought it was a good idea to teach kids privately in a controlled home like atmosphere, but not at someone's home. It is nice to know someone is monitoring along with the teachers and who comes and goes while your child in in the lesson. She was a great talent with a lovely coloratura voice, who was a concert pianist and cellist. She was a really good music mom. She used to take the bus to town with me to recieve private voice lessons. She pushed and worked hard to help me get thru college. I also like Roberta Peters, Pat Benatar, Heart, Quarterflash, Josh Groban(he sounds like my father's tenor voice!), I love to listen to the students play their instruments at my little school!
