About FIVE ONE ENTERTAINMENT
Five One Entertainment is the Truth; founded by Melbourne Gospel Hip-Hop artist MarKia, the label stands on the foundation of the eternal Word Of God. First established in 2003, 5-1 was simply a Hip-Hop/RnB label without any values or conditions. At the time, the label was involved in supporting countless shows and events in Melbourne including performances at such nightclubs as Club Odeon, Mint, Silvers, Crowne Plaza (SYD) etc. In 2005, the label took on a drastic change in its foundations as MarKia decided to make 5-1 strictly a Gospel centered label. The first release of the "new" Five One Entertainment was the 2006 debut album from MarKia "Heaven Sent Instrument". The album has over 300 units in Melbourne alone without any outside distribution deals. As it stands now, Five One has an artist roster that is continuing to grow; Lozza (RnB/Soul), RY (Hip-Hop), Tino (Hip-Hop) and MarKia (RnB/Hip-Hop). In the last two years, Five One has worked with a wide range of artists in both secular and gospel genres (2-11, Drew Gunn, Tania G, Lavina). As well as recording work, Five One has been involved in many events including Down With The King (Jan 27th 2007) and the Youth Alive Big Event 2006 @ Rod Laver Arena where for three hours Five One artists kept a consistant crowd of 1000+ entertained, amazed and uplifted. Five One Entertainment has a purpose, that's to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations through the RnB/Hip-Hop medium.
