About Me

Devour officially formed as a band in 2003. The line-up was Jason “DT” Markov on Vocals, “Metal” Mike Markov and Keith Bell (Now of FMA) on guitars, Rob Stewart on Drums and Chad “Chad Pa” Hay on Bass
After a year of getting to know each other and finding their sound, Keith got them their first gig at The Far West Lounge in Doylestown, OH. This place was in a sleepy little town in the middle of nowhere. There was a corn field across the street, and nothing else!! They thought for sure this first gig would be three drunken old men not even paying attention. To Their surprise the place was packed. They played the only six songs they had. The crowd loved it and cheered for more. More?! “Shit man, we don’t have any more.”
For a year Devour just went nuts rippin’ shit up in every venue they could get into. Keith Bell left to pursue FMA full time (And he is doing well in that project.) Devour attempted to find another guitar player. But that option proved futile. Nobody could replace Keith. So they decided to continue on as a 4 piece.
Nearing the end of 2005 with a lot of shows and a couple of kick ass benefit shows under their belts, the dreaded member turmoil began. And Rob Stewart left to join Hatecore inc. After a long search he was replaced by Eric Elavsky. Devour was back under way. But it wasn’t long before another change had to be made. Jason was released from the band. But as luck would have it. Devour found a new level with Micah Posten who had recently become free as a result of his band A.D.D. parting ways. Now gaining ground again, Devour began to write new music, doing away with some of the original material.
2006 was a decent year for Devour. They played many shows with local, out of state and international bands throughout the summer. And their fan base began to grow rapidly. Instead of hunting for shows they were being asked to play shows. They were getting high praise from both fans, fellow musicians and club owners. But as summer wound down, the Akron Music Scene took a turn for the worse. The best venues in town started closing their doors. And Devour realized it was high time they got to work on making a CD and taking it to the next level. So they began working on getting the music as tight as possible. It was then in late 2006, that they realized another change needed to be made. Chad was released from the band.
Currently Devour is moving forward with plans for a CD and they have a studio Bassist lined up. They also have a couple of prospects for a new Bassist but nothing concrete at this point. Devour is still fully determined to move forward and succeed. The mighty Devour shall not be smacked down.
