They met late 2004 in Manchester. The sun was trying to hide behind the leaves and a fascinating adventure was about to begin.Emmanuel Mario had been working at the Pop Art Library for a few months. During the night, he was in charge of an illegal radio programme he was broadcasting from his bedroom. With his audio tapes taken in full from films, poems and other delicacies, he treated his listeners in the most gorgeous way.Julien Barbagallo got to Manchester that same year to meet poet Paul Stuart. He had just brought the very rare recording of Stuarts performance at Manchesters New Poetry Theatre in January 1983. Wearing his nice hooded sweater, Julien started begging in the streets to finance his stay and he met Emmanuel at the library as he was looking for a haiku book he would never find.Thomas Terrien was wandering in the streets looking for a mouse. The crazy old genius of the piano wanted to find a girl he had met at a party a few months earlier near Saint-Malo, France.
During their stay Thomas and Emmanuel were staying at the same downtown hostel where they happened to butter bread. Julien would soon tell his new mates about his wish to meet Paul Stuart. After they had found his address, they got in touch with him and had eventually lunch together. After a while they started to feel more comfortable and they asked him if they could record a piece of music based on his 1983 performance. Not only accepted the Mancunian poet accept but they quickly came to the idea of composing an entire album inpired by some of their common passions (Takahama Kyoshis haikus, Paul Stuarts poetry, Jimmy Tamborello, Jean-Pierre Léaud and the Beatles. Paul then suggested they could work on their project at his place. Two weeks later, « Talk about particular generalities » was ready and its fever hasnt left them yet.
