quilombo

Quilombo is an "indie/tribal/hardcore" band originally from Gingoog City , Mis . Or . Philippines , it was formed last May 2001 and composed of seven members of two different bands. Eretroz band and Backlash , the bands decided to merge and has remained together ever since.
The experimentation with tribal music comes after they are fed up playing the same songs as with the other bands. Quilombo discovered that tribal music offers different kind of excitement and energy unlike any other; it allows them to be more flexible and more artistic.
After many years of searching for an identity, the band members finally found its place in the music scene through QUILOMBO. Unmindful of what others say, as long as they are comfortable making music and most of all having fun.
For almost 2 years of struggling and striving for success, the band decided to go to the next level. Armed with original composition, they went on to the recording studio to do the real thing, which is to record their originals last Oct. 2002 at Backyard Project Studio , Cebu City .
With lots of help from local music supporters and friends , quilombo successfully released their self-titled independent E.p. Album , under Punchbowl Records , which their 1st single is "INSIDE OF ME" played on air on local FM station, KB89.3 and Sandy 101.5 .
