The dr.cat experience mixes Electronica and Ethno-Dub.
Vibrant basslines, enchanting dubs and phunk that will have your feet irresistibly stepping, eclectic instrumentals that take you through both lively and arcane landscapes, firing vocals, all structured around the original compositions of Luca Gatti, AKA Dr.cat.In this upcoming show, Dr.Cat is accompanied by the talented Mr Numan Elyer on Darbucka (Stereo MCs-Oojami), Aktarv8r (Nasha/Oojami/ADF) and Elif Tarakci (Belly dancer).Together they take their audience on a journey of chilled dub mixed with kaleidoscopic instrumentals, progressing through to up-tempo beats which never fail to get the dance floor heaving.
The show is also available as a DJ-SetIn 2006 together with DIASPORA.COM Dr.cat Has been involved in a joined project with ENO (English National Opera) and ADF (Asian Dub Foundation). This new production, about the life of Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi. Gaddafi -A Living Myth- was premiered in September 2006 at the London Coliseum, Covent Garden. Joining forces with Diaspora Music in this project is Baheeg Ramsy Mikhail, an Egyptian master-violinist who played with Om Kalthoum, the most adulated Egyptian singer of the 20th century. Diaspora Music's first album, 'ReggArabesque', is Scheduled for release in 2007. It explores the rhythmic and melodic connections between Arabic music and Reggae.
Also Dr.cat has been involved in recording and playing for a number of artists.
