UP THE VILLA!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++ BARDIC BACKGROUND+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Appointed Bard of Malvern in 1993 in a laurel crowning ceremony and have performed the bardic address every year since then, with the exception of 2000 and 2001. In those years I lived in Italy, so I wrote the address and Malcolm Victory, Green Party MP candidate read it out.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++In 2006 recognised as Bard of Malvern by the Order of Wandering Peace Poets, Bards, Druids and Philosophers, my druid/bard clan.++++++++++++++++++++++++++ POETRY WEBSITES:www.myspace.com/bardofmalvern++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++www.poetrypoem.com/author3069+++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++www.malvernmessages.com (UNITE IN FIRE)++++++++++++++++++++++++PERFORMANCES: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++Every year on May Day in Malvern in Priory Park and upon demand throughout the year on the odd occasion!+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++ History:Performance poet in the early 1990s as local support for poets such as Johnny Cooper Clarke, Henry Normal, Jean Binta Breeze. Wrote and performed comedy sketches. Played Jesus in the mystery plays (short appearance on a cable TV programme about our performance). 14 years as Bard of Malvern with one appearance on ITV performing. Various performances in the 1990s including protest poetry with 'Seize the Day' and wrote, acted and directed 'The Church of the Holy Banana' at Worcester Arts Workshop in 1998 with Jorj Detheridge. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Performed and featured in a series of programmes about teachers doing stand up comedy in 2005. Came in the top 16 out of 80 for a programme for TV. Unfortunately it is yet to be aired but was presented by the Comedy Store comedian Rob Deering. The material of some of the comedians was too strong for Teacher's TV. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Worked on the Award Winning English language CD-Rom 'Language Gardening' by David Warr which won the British Council award for most innovative language material in 2007. Did voices for the CD and the tutorials for teachers. I was 'the voice of Language Gardening', quote David Warr. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Currently a Curriculum Co-ordinator for modern and foreign languages and researching expanding provision in the UK, Indian and Chinese markets for an FE college in Birmingham. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Voluntary work as a fire pujari (lay-priest) For more than 10 years have served in ashrams and the wider community doing sacred fires. Initiated by the venerable sage Sri Visnu Datta Misra in Rajgarh, Rajasthan, India in 1996. Have done several weddings and even one exorcism in Italy. Continue to do this work in a voluntary capacity when called upon.
