About Me

The Grams are a guitar based 4-piece consisting of two brothers, Dan and Tony Porter, and two life-long friends, Ben Park and Andy Watts. The Grams draw their influences from a variety of bands, in particular Bloc Party, the Cribs and Editors.
In late 2006, the Grams recorded a song - On a Wednesday - with the Brighton based producer, Mark Flannery. Mark has worked with U2, Sonic Youth and many other international artists.
The Grams began playing in London on the Camden live music scene in January 2007. 2007 turned out to be a very productive year. The band recorded with the producer and recording engineer Jon Gray at Miloco studios. Jon has worked with established indie bands such as the Kooks and the Coral, and sound engineered four tracks on the new Editors album, "An end has a Start." The Grams performed at the O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park after the track - On a Wednesday - won a competition for best unsigned band voted for by 75% of Radio XFM's listeners. The Grams supported the Wombats at KoKo for Club NME and went on to have a music video played out on the big screens at the Leeds, Reading and Isle of Wight music festivals.
