About Me

Joshua C. Edwards first played with a band called 'Soulscream' which he started with his brother and two friends from school. what they lacked in talent they made up for in enthusiasm but despite the belief of the two edwards brothers, fate conspired against the band. after they split due to richard going to uni and nick being to stoned to ever pick his guitar up, jon left his younger brother stranded with no other band members when he got an offer to play with a band called 'the council' who are incidentally the best band in london.josh decided to take a couple of years on the back burner and perfect his approach to making music. however, it soon became apparent his was a talent that could never be perfected so he just decided to wing it on his own untill he found some suitable mugs/musicians who would be in a band with him. to his surprise people actually quite liked the songs he wrote and performed on his own so he decided to make a myspace and let the world listen to his songs of depression and misery.after about a year of performing on his own, josh has finally realised his ambition of getting a band together, that band is 'The Mogadischu Syndrome' and although noone has heard them yet, they rock! 'The Mogadischu Syndrome' will be coming to a myspace and a few grimey venues near you soon so keep your ears and eyes pealed and get ready for the sickness!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Joshua C. Edwards - mainly guitar and vocals but he had been known to try his had at other things occasionally. joshua c. edwards is the founding member of 'the mogadischu syndrome' who are Tim Pocklington - drums, Paul Newark - guitar Steve Watts - bass.
Influences: i'm influenced by everything i listen to. i may not like it, infact in most cases i despise it because it is made for the wrong reasons by people who sold their souls in order to make it! here's a few artists and bands i do listen to, there are many more but these are the ones who have had a big impact on my life at some time or another. Jeff Buckley (favourate artist), Bob Dylan (greatest songwriter ever), Tom Waits (closing time is a deep album), Nick Drake, Jimi Hendrix, Ben Harper, Ryan Adams, Bob Marley, Elliott Smith, Joanna Newsom, Tori Amos. Alice In Chains (my favourate band), Pearl Jam (10 is one of my top 3 albums), Temple Of The Dog, Mad Season, Slint, Low, Radiohead, Tinawaren. there are hundreds more but it's like 4 in the morning and i cant be bothered anymore.
Sounds Like: a beutifull mix of contemporery folk and with some other things chucked in there.
