BiographyLyanna Millicent Jane Austin was born to a Jamaican mother and a Barbadian father. Born in North West London on a sunny day in May 1986.
Her love for music began when she sung her first hymn at church at the tender age of 9yrs. Lyanna became a prominent member of the church choir and pursued her love for music by taking piano lessons. She felt it was important to appreciate the theory behind the music and further study music at school, college and University.Her passion for music was also spurred on by her encounter with professional musicians at a young age. Her elder sister Lynieve Austin had already established a career in music and had tour and supported the world with well known artist M People.
Lyanna has toured across Europe and England working with artist Jessi Markee, Owen Deacon and Danny Smith; Slavery now and then book launches.Inspiration? The church provided me with the tools and understanding of real music, and working together as a band. I had excellent musician around me, like Faye Simpson, Darren Simpson, Emlyn Maillard who now plays for Terri Walker and Sonya Anya, plus more.
? I studied music at A level and have graduated Goldsmith College University of London studying Popular Music Studies.? My aim is to become a songwriter and to change the music industry for the gospel. So please support me if you want to see the music industry change, I am inspired by all styles of music and encourage others to appreciate other styles because music is a form of communication.? Suddenly she became….. the debut album is inspired by my musical journey in the last 3 years, which has taken me to uncomfortable areas concerning my singing/song writing and has strengthen me to write in different styles and to collaborate with different musicians.? The album is a product of Gods Strength to provide me with the songs and the means of creating the album itself.
