Originally starting out as a performing musician, he quickly took to the technical side of things, first in the recording studio at Fanshawe College's Music Industry Arts (MIA) program, then in live performance. He has worked all over the world, with a very wide range of acts.
An "audio whore" in the truest sense of the phrase, Jake is best known and respected as an FOH engineer or a stage tech, but as a system tech, he has also been crucial in overseeing the final installation and initial startup and operation of major systems installed on some of the largest cruise ships in the world.
As a freelance engineer, Jake bridges a number of genres, having worked with Canadian rock acts like 54-40, Default, Oliver Black and Bobnoxious. Crossing the border and changing genres, he's done shows with Patti Labelle, Keith Sweat, Kem, Maze w/ Frankie Beverly, New Editon, Babyface, Bobby Brown, India.Arie, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Kirk Franklin, Al Green and Morris Day & The Time, among many others.
