About Me

Music fanatic, photographer, sports fan, artist, nature lover, greatest guy in the world.I'm usually listening to music - at home, at work, in the car, or on the go on my ipod. I'm an avid concert goer - too many to count over the years. I love recording concerts when possible and fortunately a few of my favorites Bruce Hornsby, Glen Phillips & Toad The Wet Sprocket allow recording at their shows. I'll also record any local band that'll let me (thanks a million Gary Yerkins, Melissa Ziemer & Anne Harris). My musical tastes are wide ranging as you can probably tell from my list. If it's good, I'm a fan. My music collection is deep and varied. I still have all my old vinyl LP's and 45's and even some old 78's from my parents and grandparents, including some home made recordings taken off radio from when my dad was a musician. There are too many cd's to count, especially when you include all the live recordings I've made and traded for.Photography is one of my greatest passions in life and I'm always looking for ways to improve my skills and take it to a higher level, so please check out my photos. I'll try to keep updating them as I take new ones and scan some of my older ones. I'm loving digital photography and currently use a Canon EOS 30D digital SLR, but still keep my old Canon EOS 10s film camera body as a backup. I use Canon and Tamron lenses currently. Most of the lenses I have are compatible with both bodies. I love Colorado and usually head out there every year to take pictures, hike & visit family. I have a long list of places I want to visit and take pictures.I play a little acoustic guitar when I have the time and the inclination. I used to play a little piano too, but haven't touched the keys in a while. My best friend and I used to sit and write songs when we were kids. Since neither of us are on myspace music, you can probably guess how good our songs were. Actually, I did sort of write a number one song. A friend and I wrote a parody of Suzanne Vega's song "Luka" called "Puka" which was recorded by Bud Latour (aka LaTour) which became the top request on the Dr. Demento show for a few weeks. So I guess I can boast that I've written a number one song, and it was a great feeling to hear it on the radio. That scene in "That Thing You Do" is pretty much how it feels to hear your song on the radio, even if it's someone else singing it.And, of course, I live and (usually) die with my sports teams: Da Bears, Da Buls, Yankees and my Bandits women's pro fastpitch softball. I have quite a few sports pics up and will try to post more. I used to play a lot of basketball, but it's been about 2 years since my friends and I last played and I miss it. Playing 16 inch softball was also a blast, although I don't miss the jammed fingers that came with it.I've painted several oil paintings on canvas and dabbled with watercolors, but it's been a long time since I've painted anything other than my walls and ceilings. I hope to get back at it again someday. My dad and oldest brother were the artists in the family. I think their work could be in an art museum, but then I'm a bit biased.I make a great caprese salad, pot roast, and pizza from scratch. And I make the best mojitos this side of Cafe 28, so Sarah that offer for movies and mojitos is always open.
