This site is being created in tribute to one of America's greatest Rock 'n' Roll Roots bands who, thanks to getting boned by Epic Records, never really got the attention they deserved. Propelled by the incredible songwriting team of John Siegle and Gary Yerkins, the stellar guitar interplay between Siegle and guitarist / producer Jay O'Rourke and the powerhouse rhythm section of bassist Jim DeMonte and drummer Ed Breckenfeld, the band released 4 albums worth of cleverly crafted, hook laden, melodious rock / pop / roots music: "Ghost On The Beach" (Epic, 1987), "Live At Fitzgerald's" (Monsterdisc, 1992), "Not For Sale" (Monsterdisc, 1993) and "Fate In Action" (Monsterdisc, 1995). Sadly, the second record they were making for Epic, "Lost In Memphis", remains unissued. The band splintered in the late 90's, with Yerkins, O'Rourke and Breckenfeld forming the Country Rock offshoot band The Juleps (2 indy cd's released 1998 & 2001). Siegle remained largely unheard from until this past April when he released his first solo cd, "Get With It" (I'm really not sure what Jim DeMonte has been up to since The Insiders, but he does guest on John's new cd). I've posted some of their songs for you to listen to and I'll be changing them every so often. No, you won't be able to download them, as it's unethical - not to mention illegal - to give away someone else's music, however their Monsterdisc catalog remains available through cdbaby.com. They also have John's new cd as well as both Juleps discs. Epic did release "Ghost On The Beach" on compact disc but, in their infinite wisdom, deleted it from print. You can find it on the internet if you look hard enough and are willing to pay upwards of $30.00 for it (believe me, it's worth it!).
