It's the Queen D....Miracles Still Happen

About Me

Nashville, TN (March 1, 2006) More than likely youve already heard Stephanie Dotsons distinctive powerful vocals and probably didnt realize it. It may have been on BET in 2003 when she won the 2 nd Annual GOSPEL DREAM American-Idol-Esque singing competition. But it probably was this weekend when you, like many others, saw the hilarious movie Madeas Family Reunion. Stephanie Dotson was on the big screen doing what she does best --- Sing!

In the pivotal family reunion scene, Stephanie shared the screen with giants Maya Angelou and Cicely Tyson and belted out the Negro Spiritual Pray On. It was her emotive voice that drove the scene and as music often does it brought everything together.

I was completely, totally awe-struck, said Dotson of her role in Madeas Family Reunion. It was an unbelievable experience to have amazing women like Maya [Angelou] and Cicely Tyson tell me that I had blessed them with my singing that was really a blessing to me.

Madea creator Tyler Perry knew the moment he heard her voice that she was the one for the part. Stephanie is truly anointed and amazing, he said. Her emotional rendition of Pray On was the perfect choice for my movie.

Stephanies journey actually started three years ago when she first heard about a singing contest at her church. The experience brought her all the way to the finals and to the release of her debut project, MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN, which hits stores on March 28, 2006. A blend of classic gospel, catchy-dance tracks, pop ballads and worship songs this album is a culmination of Dotsons hard work and determination, that features the stand-out cuts Give Him Glory, The Sun Will Shine After While, featuring the Bishop Paul S. Morton; Cant Nobody, and I Do Believe.

Check out Stephanie Dotson in Madeas Family Reunion and on her new album MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN in stores everywhere, March 28 th !
