About Me

THE BIOGRAPHY OF AK THA RAZORMAN--------------------Akeem Lawal was born in Gainesville, FL on January 16, 1979, he is also known as AK Tha Razorman. At the age of 4 years old AK moved to Atlanta, GA. AK began to have an interest in rap music at a early age. He was inspired by the legendary group RUN D.M.C. At the age of 8 years old, he started beat boxing and free-styling. AK later moved to small town outside of Atlanta called Mableton, GA. While attending 5th grade at Harmony Leland Elementary School, he met (Nathaniel Josey) known today as Macboney. AK & Macboney shared the same musical interest. They performed at the 5 th grade talent show and became a rap duo. In the 6th grade, he met an aspiring artist (Sean Merrit) known as Big Kuntry King. In the7th grade, he met (Douglas Peterson) known as Dollar D.P who today is the A&R/VP of Grand Hustle Entertainment. In 1994, while attending Pebblebrook High School in Cobb County, GA., he met (Cortez Thomas) C-Rod who is MacBoney's cousin. AK & Macboney continued their musical ambitions by performing in many talent showcases and nightclubs (throughout ATL). When AK was 15 years old, he knew that the entertainment business was the life he wanted to pursue. In 1995, when AK was 16 years old while visiting Macboney's cousin Bee house on Campbellton Rd. in Atlanta, GA he met a young street hustler known to the world today as T.I or T.I.P. AK & Macboney, took there talents a step further by making a trip to New York with T.I.P. where they learned more about the professional side of the music biz.------------------------------------------A short time later in 1997, The Pimp Squad Click was created with original members AK, Macboney, T.I.P., C-Rod, Dollar D.P, and Big Kuntry King. AK with the P. $.C was featured on T.I.'s debut album "I'm Serious" on the song "Heavy Chevy's". The P. $.C took it to the next level by having the first mixtape to ever hit the south entitled "T.I. & P.$.C In the Streets Part 1", which became an instant classic in 2001. In 2002, while T.I. worked towards another solo deal the P. $.C dropped a second mixtape entitled "T.I. & P.$.C In the Streets Part 2". Atlantic Records heard of the street buzz and upgraded the P.$.C'S mixtape movement by releasing 20,000 copies of "T.I. & P. $.C In the Streets Part 3". This lead to the debut of DJ Drama's "Gangsta Grillz Meets T.I. & P. $.C In the Streets Special Edition". AK & Macboney, continued their tag team with their own mixtape entitled "Glocks -N- Plans" in 2004, a Grand Hustle street classic! AK also featured on Lil Jon's Christmas album, "Crunk N Disorderly" on the song "Turn it up". He also featured on T.I.'s platinum selling "Urban Legend" on the song entitled "Limelight" and DJ Drama's "Down With The King Gangsta Grillz". The P.$.C. launched their own Gangsta Grillz mixtape entitled "The Indictment" in 2005, and appeared on the "Hustle -N- Flow" soundtrack with the song "Murder Game". The P.$.C. released their first nation wide album "25 to Life" on September 21, 2005, under Grand Hustle/Atlantic Records that sold over 300,000 copies. AK of P. $.C. then featured on T.I.'s "KING" album (the only rap record that reached platinum in 2006) on the hit song "Bankhead", released February 2006. AK is also featured on Big Kuntry King's "Cocaine" and "Corporate Hustle" with C.T.E. recording artist Slick Pulla. -------------------------------------------------------AK released his own independent mixtape entitled "Back In the Streetz", while grinding on his own. He later sold 10,000 copies of his latest mixtape "Xpand & Conquer" and is still selling as of now. AK has traveled the country performing at a lot of different venues, events, and nightclubs in the South, Midwest and East coast. AK's determination and crafty lyrical ability has proven himself to the hip-hop community that he is an official artist that has the full ability to hold down his own solo position.
