Travis “Smokesta†Johnson was born December 26, 1985 in Stuttgart Germany, after being born he was brought to the U.S to live with his mom & grandmother in Americus GA. At age 9 is when his father retired the military and moved he and his family to Augusta GA. this is where he discovered his love for hip-hop.
The name 'Young Smokesta' comes from a friend that once said the style and lyrics of Travis “Smokesta†Johnson have the ability to make you choke like when you've inhaled too much smoke. Years later Travis “Smokesta†Johnson name was changed from Young Smokesta to just Smokesta. His marketing agent thought that it would be a better way to go with Travis “Smokesta†Johnson image. Jonovan “Aquarius Vision†Stephens has help mold Smokesta into that well talented & humble minded artist that you see today.Smokesta doesn't have the lyrical style of the typical rapper now. He has his own individual thing going that consists of southern hip-hop with a blend of crunkness and a sprinkle of R&B.
