Check out THA BRIDGE Hip Hop Church-Coming to Pueblo in the Fall of 2008!
Welcome to the official Myspace page of an event that most of you know as RapFest of the West. I am excited to announce a HUGE change this year! That's shouldn't surprise you! We have been known to "re-invent" ourselves over the years. And this year, 2008, is no exception.
Out of respect to our peers in New York, the original "RAPFEST," we have decided to change our name to "THA BRIDGE URBAN FEST." There has been some confusion over the last couple of years between our event, "RAPFEST OF THE WEST," and the original RAPFEST. While we have seen major growth in our ministry, we know that we need to honor our peers from New York. RAPFEST has a solid event that has been around for a very long time. They have been key players in the Holy Hip Hop movement and we have been influenced by their ministry. And that is why we have chosen to make this change. I hope this doesn't cause any inconvenience for our friends. We thank you ahead for your support as we make this change.
While you are here, subscribe to this blog. That's probably going to be one of the best ways to stay updated about our national events.
On this Myspace page, you will find tons of info, not only about THA BRIDGE URBAN FEST, but about the ministries and ministers involved with the event, some of the organizations we are involved in, and the organizations we have been influenced by. You will also be able to listen to some of the artists music and read the blogs written by Pastor D, the RFoW visionary.
Tha Bridge Urban Fest is an official event of RESTORATION PRODUCTIONS, a ministry of the RESTORATION CENTER church in Pueblo, Colorado, Pastored by Dominic and Nicole Suazo. Come check out our Myspace page...
I'd like to point out that there is also a lot of information in our blog above. So go check it out. While you are there, subscribe to this blog. That's probably going to be one of the best ways to stay updated about Tha Bridge Urban Fest.
Well, it has been over 10 months since we officially held one of the biggest hip hop and urban training events of 2007! That's right, RapFest of the West grew from an outreach based concert into something so much more. We became the RapFest of the West Urban Training Conference, an outreach and training event. An event that spanned over 3 days, and included some great workshops led by some great speakers, along with plenty of hip hop music from some of the tightest artists and ministries out there.
I can tell you right now, it was definitely the best RapFest of the West yet! We had over 700 in attendance, with about 130-140 people attending the workshops. Saturday night featured a powerful altar call led by Eli Hernandez of Orlando, Florida. There must have been at least 200 people at the altar.
Over the years, we have had many individuals, organizations and ministries involved in the RapFest of the West event. We would like to just say thank you to all of those people...
1) The Restoration Center family. Especially my wife, Nicole. Thank you for sacrificing for this event to grow. My mother in law, Rosalie and my sister in law, Vicky, thank you for your support. My children and my nephews, you guys are great workers. My father in law, Joe, thank you!
2) Divine Flava Records, including MVP, Rollah, Spanish Kid, D-Ro (and former members Unf8abo and Dyscyple). Also, Jessica Kennedy. You have been a huge support over the years!
3) The I25 Alliance, more specifically JJ Torrez and SIC, but also to the over 125 members of the Alliance, thank you! Many of you have come through over the years.
4) Praise Center Church, which includes Pastors Micah Espinosa and William Rodriguez, the LDI, Sparc Media, and of course one of our flagships, the Colorado Coalition 4 Youth Ministries. Last year would not have happened the way it did without you guys!
5) We have had many sponsors over the years, but YouthpartnersNET and Little Caesars Pizza Pueblo, you guys have really helped us out a lot!
6) AGE, Jerry Torrez, SOULJA and the SOG Crew, you guys have consistently come through in many ways.
7) The artists. THANK YOU! You know who you are. And you make a lot of this possible. You guys are soldiers who basically work for free!
8) There have been many others. Please forgive me if I didn't name you. But, we appreciate every one of you that has invested into RapFest of the West. I pray that you would be willing to do the same for THA BRIDGE URBAN FEST.
Take a look at our calendar for dates and info. As you will see when you take a look at our calendar, we are no longer one main event, but rather a series of events in several different cities.
See you there!
