The Swedish death/thrash metal act Zero Tolerance arose from the ashes of Krämatorium, a humourous thrash metal band with Swedish lyrics. After releasing the demos “Krämatorium†& “Gräsklipparfrenesi†(Lawn- mower frenzy) and playing at a number of local venues and festivals the band wanted a more serious approach. The name was changed to Zero Tolerance and the lyrics were written in English. The theme also changed from gore/splatter to lyrics about more universal topics such as society, media and religion. The music has become more aggressive with inputs from both death- and black metal but the foundation still remains within the thrash metal style.
The first demo under the new name was released in September and called “Prime Time Mind Surgeryâ€. It is a mix of old school thrash like Nuclear Assault, Vio- lence and Sepultura but with a more death metal feeling to it. On the title track vocalist and friend, Björn “Speed†Strid from Soilwork, appears as guest vocalist. The songs are as follows “Amenâ€, “Inner War†and “In The Name Of Reasonâ€.
Just before the demo was released, guitarist Hannes Hellman left the band due to musical differences. His replacement was Tony Eriksson from the old thrash metal band Decay. The tune- oriented guitar playing of Eriksson combined with Oscar Persson’s riff- oriented guitar playing and songwriting makes a perfect match, giving the music a new dimension. New songs were written and the “new†band made their debut gig at a local club in their hometown of Helsingborg. Unfortunately guitarist Tony Eriksson had to leave the band in the beginning of 2007 due to personal reasons. A replacement was a blast to find but after several auditions the replacement for Eriksson were found in Philip Goldstrand. Goldstrand is a fully member of ZERO TOLERANCE since August 2007.
A lot of positive attention was brought to the band via the web community “Myspace.com†and people from all over the world is giving ZERO TOLERANCE their attention and support. Their fanbase is growing for everyday...
