Music:
Folks You Wanna Know
Mojo Swagger
So, if YOU ain't copped last year's
Port Authority (mixed down by DJ Parallax) yet than you've seriously slept. I dig him cause, in a hip-hop community overrun with the same "underground" sound ALL THE TIME, he's like a breath of much-needed fresh air. Not only that, being in capital of the South, he offers some new-new, as opposed to tryin to blend in and water his own style down. Shit, I love to "Pop, Lock, & Drop It" as much as the next girl, but can I
please get my grime on??!! Mojo Swagger's music allows me to do that. Look out for "It's A Good Look" coming soon...
Tea Bag Da Herbalist
Since he's been makin grown folks music for years now, he's got the beats and ill lyrics on deck, believe it. Bout to drop another album on folks, so heads get ready! I've known this cat for a looong time, met him the same night I met DJ Ox. Both men have had mad influence on me, and I wouldn't put anyone onto some bad shit, so check him out.
Goldi Gold
Real talk: his artwork speaks for everything I could say about him. You're guaranteed to "ooooh" and "ahhh" over his joints.I have done it many a time.He got a clothing line too, Jungle 45, that got some hot shit. When you get to his page, check out the Jungle 45 page and read the Jungle Jem. :)
Kecia - Queen Tittie
The boss lady you don't wanna fuck with, but, if you're on her good side, she'll have your back in a minute. She helps keep Red Reign on lock, so you know wassup.Besides all the business stuff, she's just a cool ass lady to have around. You want to work with someone who won't pull no funny style business? She's the one to fucks with.
Craig "The Flux" Wonda
" Loud, crazy, wild - a couple ways to describe Flux, but dude got ill artwork plus nasty rhymes in his bag. Plus, he's part of Binkis Recs. who got one of the best shows in Atlanta, hands down. I seen them perform the other day, and niggas was on stage in gorilla & werewolf masks, still hip-hop to def! Then they bust out the MFSB "TSOP" on heads, and I went bananas. FISSSK!!!! *laughs*
Lady Marauder
Check out her record shop when you're down in Augusta. From what I understand, they got all the rare good shit on the low. Plus...she's funny. :)
Dumpster Dive
One of the few record stores I actually frequent, and I love the boys of Dumpster Dive just as much! Not to mention records, they got all sorts of....crap. From scarves to used dvd's & vhs' to teapots, you need it they got it. Best time to go in is when they're all gathered around watching Jeopardy - who said hip-hop ain't got nerds?? :)
DJ Fudge
One of my personal favorite DJ's in Atlanta - Fudge's the kinda DJ that'll keep your ass on the dancefloor until you can hardly breathe, and you're like, "I
KNOW he ain't just put that song on....", on some throwback type ish. Fudge is doing a party, you know it's gonna be good.
How Soon Is Now - The Smiths
Turn Your Lights Down Low - Bob Marley
Movies:
I dig movies, I guess. Mostly comedies (Coming To America, Harlem Nights, Grandma's Boy, Wedding Crashers, etc), honestly; I love rewinding scenes and laughing about them for like 10 minutes straight. Eddie Murphy's Raw is a blatant case of that. But I can definitely watch drama/thriller/suspense joints, and horror films are always pretty snappin (it's not the movie that scares me, it's my imagination; that ish runs mu'fukin' wild, son).
Television:

Books:
You give me anyyyything and I'ma probably read it. None too big on non-fiction, but I'm SLOWLY getting to enjoy it. Especially when it's about the struggle of peoples, and the ways they overcame oppression. All that other literature ish? Oh yeah, from Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility to Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watchin God to everything in between, man. I just finished Dune and now I'm reading White Oleander. Fucks with me on books, yo...
Heroes:
My Moms, Zora Neale Hurston, Kate Chopin, Elaine Brown, powerful women - ain't nothin like a woman who holds her own ish down.
