About Me

Hi, My name is Scott. I was born and raised in Palmdale, CA. Knowing I wasn't ready for college - I didn't have the grades nor the money - I enlisted the Air Force during my Senior year of High School. It was a very good decision, I was able to receive good technical training, college (USAF- paid for classes), and an education college could not provide; I lived in Korea, Puerto Rico, and Panama. I considered making it a career, but decided it was not right for me, although now that many of my friends are "retired" and starting a second career - one wonders if I made the right decision. Before I got out of the Air Force I sent resumes to over 65 companies. Among others, I received an offer for a position at Ericsson, a Swedish Telecommunications company, as an Installation Test Engineer - testing Class 5 computerized telephone exchanges for the different RBOCs and wireless (Cellular) providers. I have lived and worked in Sweden, Holland, and the UK while working at Ericsson. Want to talk about the Pros and Cons of National Health Care? In 1996 I was offered the opportunity to work in Guildford , Surrey , England for a year where I met my wonderful wife Michelle . Much of my youth was misspent - I'm trying to make up for that now. See my homepage for more photos of me and my family.

My Interests

Apologetics
Hockey
and Politics , you've got to love Michelle Malkin .

I'd like to meet:

Dr. Scott Hahn I met him briefly in 1996 during the Catholic Evangelization Weekend in Dallas, TX. Bob Rice He is a rocking musician and a professor at Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH Mike Ofca a rocking guitar player and the CEO of Innovation Studios Fr. Frank Pavone , the President of Priests for Life and host of Defending Life Marcus Grodi , the host of The Journey Home and Steve Wood , the host of The Carpenter's Shop

Music:

Currently my favorite band is a Catholic Christian rock band - Backyard Galaxy - Great Music and inspring lyrics. In the mid to late 1990's I really enjoyed listening to Rich Mullins A great thinker and a brilliant song writer. His song, Awesome God is still a favorite of mine and my children. What's currently in my MP3 player or my car's CD player? Besides Bob Rice and Backyard Galaxy , and Rich Mullins - "Just Live it" the album from the Franciscan University 2004 Youth Conference in Stuebenville, OH. It includes songs from Fr. Stan Fortuna, Sean Forrest , Joe Zeleck , Tom Booth , Steve Angrisano , Jesse Manibusan , Angus McDonell , Martin Doman and others. My Mp3 player also has John Michael Talbot's "Collections".My favorite band in High School was Oingo Boingo for the official web site Click Here And I still like to listen to them from time to time. When I was in High School, I liked to listen to Frank Zappa he was a great musician, but most of his songs were about pure crap - catchy lyrics, but pure crap. However, his song "I'm the Slime" oozing out of your TV set - is right on. Although far from being a tool for the government, it has become a complete propaganda machine for the agendas of the socialistic elite in America.

Movies:

It's a Wonderul Life
Man without a face
Braveheart
Man on Fire
I just added Mercury Rising to my list. ANy film where Alec Baldwin gets shot in the Chest and falls from a sky scapper to his death at the end cannot be a bad film. Yes, I know it isn't very "Christian" of me, but indulge me on this one, especially after him stating the grotesque manner in which he would like to kill Fr. Frank Pavone

Television:

Life on the Rock
The Journey Home
The Carpenter's Shop
Survivor
Stargate SG1 and Atlantis
Dirty Jobs
Myth Busters
Man vs Wild

Books:

Good News About Sex and Marriage by Christopher West How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization by Thomas E. Woods, JR.

Christian Fatherhood and
Legacy by Steve Wood

Angels and Demons by Peter Kreeft

The Kinsey Corruption

St. Edmund Campion - A life by Evelyn Waugh

Evelyn Waugh presented his biography of St. Edmund Campion, the Elizabethan poet, scholar and gentleman who became the haunted, trapped and murdered priest as “a simple, perfectly true story of heroism and holiness.”

This is one of my favorite Saint/Martyr stories.

Heroes:

A real no brainer - Yeshua - Jesus our Savior his english name, Joshua, make much more sense out of the Old Testament book bearing that name.
Pope John Paul II
Pope Benedict XVI
St. Francis of Assis
Mother Theresa of Calcutta
Mother Angelica
G.K. Chesterton

Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am with them

Protestants often quote Matt 18:20 out of context trying to JUSTIFY (pun intended) their belief, "It doesn't matter what "denomination" I belong to".    Wrong - This is just one small ...
