I Am Having Fun This Summer!

About Me

Sue "Twanggirl" Bugow is 100% Canadian. Although she was born in Matheson, Ontario; Sue has lived most of her life on the southern shores of Georgian Bay. Sue's earliest musical influences were her fathers love for old country and fiddle music, while her mother kept her grounded with old time rock and roll. Sue says, "It was 1986 when I first picked up the guitar. It was my sisters guitar and I only picked it up when she wasn't home. After I was taught to tune a guitar, by ear I might add,..I learned some chords and started writing music. I learned to play some Eagles tunes and some Pink Floyd but I always seemed to go back to writing my own songs. " As she started making her own music choices, influences of Ozzy, Def Leopard, AC/DC, Tom Petty, Stevie Knicks, Joan Jett, and David Wilcox started to transform her style. Her style has developed into a fasinating country twang with a rock attitude. Sue enjoys her carreer choice, she says, "I love going on stage! I describe it like a rollercoaster ride. You're scared as hell during the ride but once you've come off you wanna go back on". Famous Nashville Songwriter "Don King" who has written hits for Reba MacEntire, tells Sue her song "No Name For That" has the sound of Buddy Holly!
