I'M NOT CONCEITED, I'M PUTTING YOU ON TO THE TRUTH.Nyshaun “Tha Trendsetta” signed to Dwayne Shaw’s Creamdreamz Records drops his highly anticipated LP My Motion Pictures. Nyshaun who has already been properly titled “The New Face Of The South” has generated one of the biggest buzzes below the Mason Dixon Line with an extremely gifted delivery and a swagger that is closely resembled to that of Shawn Carter. Nyshaun has been easily compared to an early Nas in the “It Was Written “ era and Jay-Z In the “Reasonable Doubt” period, these close comparisons can easily be heard on “My Motion Pictures”. The songe “All I Know” in which Nyshaun vividly describes the day-to-day hustle in his city of Yanceyville quickly reminds you of Jay-Z’s “Dead Presidents” descriptively paints a young man trying to avoid the life he once lived in the “Fast Lane” over ShawShank “The Ghost Producer’s “ stellar production , but Nyshaun’s extensive subject matter takes you from that of an east coast rapper located in the south, especially on the widely celebrated track “The Roots” Nyshaun along with fellow label mate JR.(a.k.a. “ Young Fella”) vividly describe the orgins of the south, speaking on everything from the hospitality to it’s racial beginnings over the late great Kyro’s massive production, but the southern slang from Nyshaun doesn’t stop there, what could be seen as a chance using a sampled verse, Nyshaun definetly hits with “They Don’t Know” where listeners experience Nyshaun at his best over a Shawshank track driving the track with bars of pure swagger and determination, but the standout track of the album would have to be a track properly titled “Hip- Hop” where Nyshaun sets his swagger to a hundred percent and attacks music’s most controversial topic over Kyro’s production the song can easily be labeled a classic, never struggling with subject matter, Nyshaun opens up to fans on two stellar tracks “Hate That I Love You” where he exposes to fans a long-term relationship, explaining the pressures of the relationship and the deep titled “The Beauty Of Pain” where we find Nyshaun talking about the struggles and his personal victory over alcoholism. In attempt to get the party hype we find Nyshaun on the track “Groovin’” describing everything from the alcohol consumption to the many girls at the party. On the track “That’s What It Is” we find Nyshaun bringing life back to the club life once again. The album soon reaches two strong tracks, on the track “No Mercy” self-produced” we find Nyshaun at his best, when he flows with that passion and determination that fans have grown to love and on the track “Maintaining” Shawshank’s production allows to Nyshaun to lay a delievery that allows fans to just cruise and reflect on things. Giving hip-hop fresh air and hushing critics, the bars here are easily designed on another level , almost in those of a “Rap God”, the delivery is bold and brash.
