Formed in Hyltebruk 1997 they chopped and changed the line up on numerous occasions.
Although they are based in sweden they only have one Swedish member in the drummer Andy. We´ve got England Portugal and Hungry represented in the band.
Stuart started the group together with Tamas playing a Ride sort of sounding guitar mash with vocals from a girl i actually cant remember.. There was a glam boy rocker on guitar and a death metal drummer, live performances were memorable and shambolic with onstage fighting and too much alcohol . A cover of Chapterhouse if you want me and a blistering version of Rides "Drive Blind" were crowd favourites aswell as theyre very own "Special" and "Like you".
Stuart got tired of the girl and bought in his long time friend on vocals, Pedro.
The sound also got alot more interesting with the addition of the mysterious Adda on guitar. (check out his myspace page)
The music started getting more adult sounding sometimes almost pink floydy although Stuart tried his hardest and kept the indie ethic of having dodgy lyrics and at least a bit of a wah/fuzz blast in every song. The band recorded 3 albums all pressed in a series of 200 and all 3 albums sold out quickly. The band also did a lot of touring and played some excellent shows all over the place between 1998-2000
The band took a break in 2000 to concentrate on other things like making babys.
Stuart had another project between 2000-2003 "Fade" which was the starting point of the "new" cloudburst sound.
(stuart) " i started to really get into the BJM and really love the way Anton Newcombe writes songs, pure genius. I also started to take alot more time with my song writing and made sure everything was perfect whereas before i sort of just let everyone do what they wanted"Cloudburst cease to exist in any way from 1st September 2007. There will be no come backs. The old songs may be redone but the name and crap surrounding the band is now over. However out of the demise comes a new and exciting band "The Moneyhoneys"....... The king is dead lkong live the new king!!!!
