Andy Bell – former guitarist and singer in RIDE – said:

I did this show with Mark Gardener last November when he passed through Stockholm , and when I came onstage I said “Welcome to Shoegazers Anonymous, My name is Andy Bell and I’m a shoegazer”. It felt good to admit it, because, basically, it’s true. I will always carry the torch.

I was at that gig in person and when I heard: “Welcome to Shoegazers Anonymous” - I felt that it was both true and ironic. So that’s where I got the idea to start this page. With all respect to Andy, I borrowed your quote to keep it alive.

If you’re over thirty - then you can call yourself “a Shoegazer from the time when it all begun” Even if it sounds pathetic ... Anyway, this is the site for us!

To become a member there are no rules, but a first step should be to confess with a comment starting: “My name is ***, and I am a Shoegazer ”.
