About Me

Graduating Senior (April 2008) @ the Univ. of Michigan! WOOT! I plan to either Teach in an underprivileged area or work for a non-profit immediately after I graduate. Eventually (soon) I will be going back to school for my PhD (or two or three) and then I'll teach at the college-level. I also plan to do a few other more exciting things. :)

My Interests

I am interested in health (mental, physical, emotional, spiritual) and fitness, hair care and hair styles, makeup and fashion (although I am bummy all day everyday, but I have an excuse Im a college student) lol, I like music and reality television, I love talking and writing, I like theory and research, I am interested in Community service and providing effective initiatives for changing underprivileged communities. I'm also interested in electronic trinkets and gadgets. I LOVE Apple and when I get a real job, Im buying that tiny laptop! :D I also love thrifty things and making beautiful things on a budget, natural solutions to medical/skin/hair issues. All kinds of things!!

Music:

R&B and hip hop mostly. Love songs, upbeat songs. More positive things, some ignorant stuff I can tolerate, but some things are just ridiculous and disgusting.

Movies:

I love the Temptations, The Notebook and Now and Then, also Waiting to Exhale. A lot of Black men hate it but I think it shows a strong bond between women that rarely exists. One day I would like to have such a tight-knit circle of friends like that, and Im pretty sure I love Now and Then for that reason too. And the Temptations are just Classic! And Leon did great with David Ruffin! Loved him! :)

Television:

I like Girlfriends. Too bad its going off of the air. and I mainly watch reality shows now, but I love the classics: Cosbys, Different World, Living Single, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and a few others.

Books:

I love bell hooks. She is wonderful! I plan to read all of her books. And anything by James Baldwin! No Disrespect by Sister Souljah, Mans Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, Assata Shakur: An Autobiography, and a few others. Read read! For fun, for pleasure, you will learn something! :D

Heroes:
