About Me

Throughout her life and career, Berta A. Daniels has dedicated herself to creating fresh and visually exciting images. A native of the Boston area, Berta attended the Art Institute of Boston, where she majored in Photography and Sculpture. Her fine art photography has been described as theatrical, painterly, spiritually transformational and richly provocative. As she explores the figure in the landscape, she invites the viewer to become a co-walker with her and her subject on a journey through light and shadow.Berta's more commercial work focuses on creating images for the music industry, travel, food and fashion. For more than fifteen years she has been working as a freelance lifestyle photographer for magazines, books and other publications as well as corporate and private clients. My Interests

Photography, of course! But other than that... Exploring the world and exchanging ideas with interesting and creative people.

I'd like to meet:

Everyone

Music:

I love all different kinds of music and I'm always up for listening to something new. This is a good thing because I do a lot of music photography, and it would suck if I weren't open to enjoying it all.

Here's a short list of CDs that I have in heavy rotation for my personal listening pleasure at this time: Ananat Jesse, Mantrica ; The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper; Jay Atwood , Bonfire Dreaming; Billie Holiday, Lady Sings the Blues; Tommy Dempsey , Live Songs; Dar Williams , Green World; Sneaker Pimps , Becoming X; The Story, Angel in the House; Pink , I'm Not Dead!; Heart , Alive in Seattle; Solas , The Words That Remain; Eurythmics , Savage; Loreena McKinnitt , The Mask and the Mirror; The Scissor Sisters , Scissor Sisters; Santana , Shaman; Ferron , Shadows on a Dime; Coro Allegro , Voice of the Tenth Muse; Afro Celt Sound System , Volume 2: Release; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young , So Far; Jonatha Brooke , Plumb; Anonymous 4 , Origin of Fire; Grateful Dead , American Beauty; Indigo Girls , Shaming the Sun; deSol , deSol; Cat Stevens, Tea for the Tillerman.

Books:

Some of my favorite authors are (not in any order): Mary Reneault, Tony Hillerman, Alice Walker, Robert Parker, Elizabeth A. Lynn, Judith Guest, Ntozake Shange, Barbara Kingsolver, Michael Pollan, Nevada Barr and so many more...

I finished reading and can recomend: A Walk in the Woods, by Bill Bryson; Possession, by A.S. Byatt; Trader, by Charles deLint; The Coming Plague, by Laurie Garrett; and The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant

Right now I'm reading: A Room with a View, by E.M. Forster.
