The Pax Romana

Chicago 2008

About Me

In the spring of 2004, frontman Michael Roffman and guitarist Jay Ziegler started writing songs in a shoe box dorm room with a weak Fender tester amp and a couple of pads of paper their freshman year at Florida State University. Months later and following the collaboration of drummer Bill Hanson and keyboardist Matt Sexton, The Pax Romana was born.

The Pax Romana is rooted in garage rock and psychedelics, with an energy mirroring At The Drive-In and a mood that bears similarities to The Doors. The band set out it's image with 2005's Generatorchildren and quickly followed up with the 2006 EP, Force Majeure. In 2008, founding band members Michael Roffman and Jay Ziegler will continue the sound in Chicago.
