People Will Blink

If you don't like it, we win.

About Me

In honour of Halloween, we have included a few videos from our infamous Halloween show at Cafe Ballistico in 2003. We dressed up as Super Mario Bros. 2 villains and forced Princess Toadstool to play with us.
THE ENTRANCE -- THEME FROM "MILLENNIUM" -- LEVEL 2:
BOBBY BROWN'S "ON OUR OWN" FROM GHOSTBUSTERS 2:
DEBUT PREMIER OF "BUMBLEBEE WON'T DANCE":
We travel with our families in covered wagons.
It appears that our full-length debut is almost ready for public unleashing! We have definitively chosen "Explodeo!" for the title. We plan on playing at least two record-release shows, one in late December and one in early January. This is a People Will Blink special engagement (i.e., after this, we probably won't be playing again for a long time) and is not to be missed. In other news, Ed still will not put the band in his top friends... even though he has left enough space for his sister's pet rabbit, Bunnaroo.
The album was recorded between 2003 and 2007 by Mark Yoshizumi at Studio Chicago and his apocalypse-equipped apartment. It will be released on Reformer Records in December. The album will contain 8 tracks, all of which will periodically appear on this page. And it will be fantastic.
Here is a video of us recording "The Coat Hanger Song."
If you're still reading about us, that's very sweet of you. Here's a little more information. People Will Blink formed in 2002 and played several shows, traveling from practice to practice and venue to venue with our families in covered wagons. In 2004, we took some time off. Some of us quit, traveled, went to school in California, rejoined the group, quit, moved, joined for the first time, and moved again. People Will Blink is currently Azeem, Charlie, Ed, Mark, and Patrick. In our songs turkish wedding music coexists with thrash metal, sea-faring shanties evolve into free jazz, and ambient sound collages turn into video game soundtracks. We use bass, guitar, drums, keyboards, clarinets, remote controls, and whatever else happens to be lying around the basement. We often yell our heads off, try to sing four-part harmonies, and disparage each other on stage. We have no manifesto, no overarching theme or purpose, but we like playing. We think you'll like our playing too. But probably not.
