About Me

I'm bald! Minutes post shave:
March 8th I shaved my head to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. I raised over $3,500 and my team raised nearly $18,000.00! If you would still like to donate to St. Baldricks, go to www.stbaldricks.org, click the "Find A Participant" tab at the top of the page and search my name, "Erica Linz". Its easy to donate and only takes 2 minutes online. Here is my Honey, a horse and I: My Mom is shaving her head on April 4th in Colorado Springs. Go to www.stbaldricks.org and search Mary-Mike Linz if you'd like to sponsor her! My Mom (small pic, all I have):
Other than that... Well, I'm a desperately serious, hopelessly comic, cynical, silly version of the bird I once was. I flew from my cozy nest in the mountains to the neon garden of Vegas showbiz. I danced in the spotlight, basking in the duality of my alter egos. Innocent on stage, hardened inside, foul mouthed and kind hearted. I walked away from a phenomenal job to find the freedom my rock and roll roots demanded. I took a year off from corporate circus life to purge my soul and revel in the vigor of my youth. I danced with the Devil at the Stardust casino, sang with the Cherubs in a rhinestone brassiere, and restored urgency to a fire slowly smoldering inside of me. Today, you might find me punching the clock and paying my mortgage like a good little American, or dancing on the table and coaxing your coterie toward trouble. Any which way will do...
At the office:
This is what I've been doing at work recently. I am the flying girl in red. The audio is in French, so grab a baguette and a bottle of wine to enjoy. :)

My Interests

Recreationally: I like music making, going dancing, beer drinking, word writing, craft making, joke cracking, people meeting, opinion having, shit shooting, off pissing, crazy making, short being, bandanna sporting, liberal acting, conservative squelching, mind opening, day dreaming, night maring, mind fucking, paradigm bending, devil's advocating, meat avoiding, belly laughing, life living, and daytime sleeping.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people who have noodles in their noggins and creativity in their blood. Those who fuel inspiration rather than devour it. I enjoy people who have evolved emotionally and know that the world is bigger than their drama.

I'd like to meet you if:
-We were friends in the past and have lost touch.

-You realize that I'm in a relationship and that you and I are not going to hook up. (I'm sure you are wonderful, really! Its not you, its me. There are plenty of fish in the internet....)

-You'll forgive me for being a busy little bee and not having the time to answer a lot of questions about my job. You can find lots of wonderful information about Cirque du Soleil in the "Cirque du Soleil" groups on Myspace, the official cirquedusoleil.com website, and the very active fan site cirquetribune.com . However, don't hesitate to drop me a line to share your thoughts on Mystere or Ka!

This is funny... I've never had a quiz turn out this accurately. I've certainly never had a quiz answer with my own picture. Awesome. - Which Cirque du Soleil Mystere character are you?

Music:

An ecclectic smorgasboard of audio goodies: from the punk I grew up on, to the metal my man likes, to that super sultry Shirley Bassey, through electronic, across the board to Carmina Burana. I'm a sucker for anything with a solid beat and a melodic female vocalist.

Movies:

Braveheart, I am Sam, SLC Punk, Edward Scissorhands, Man on Fire, Empire Records, Willie Wonka, Boondock Saints, In America, American Beauty, Benny and Joon, etc.

Television:

Re-runs and nicktoons.

Books:

Enders Game, 1984, Electroboy, Da vinci code, Sickened: The story of a Munchausen by Proxy childhood, Burned Alive: A victim of the law of men in the west bank, Memoirs of a Geisha, True crime, Harry Potter (I can't help it!), Lolita, Wicked, Diet for a new America, The Melencholy Death of Oyster Boy, Times Arrow, and Olivia Saves the Circus.

Heroes:

My family is dipped in awesome-sauce and my friends are often served with a side of fantastic.

A half-assed update from slacker-ville.

I started on Myspace after I had my ankle chopped to bits on the operating table,  I was layed up for a WHILE and had lots of time to galavant around the E-realm.  Now, I'm afraid I've negle...

Freelance fears

I had a gig in Seattle this weekend. I was performing at a party in an art gallery. I had a DJ, a platform, a costume that kept "malfunctioning" and a bundle of nerves so thick I thought I might puk...

Lacking Feet

I was 3 years old when I saw the movie "Nadia" for the first time. By the time I turned five I wore my Mary Lou Retton stars and stripes leotard constantly. I practiced made up floor routines in the...
