About Me

I'm easy to get along with... as long as noone tries to p1ss me off!!! JK... I feel that fears are hindrances in life, so I try to conquer just about all my fears head on. I'm gonna try as many things as is possible in a lifetime, so I allow myself to doing everything at least once.I always need to be living in a city... need that energy! I've been in Chicago for 12 or so years, after having lived in San Fran and Philly. (Was raised in Pennsylvania.) One day though.... I WILL make it to live in NYC!!! The expenses there freak me out more than anything, though. So, I've decided the only way to combat THAT fear is to play and win the lottery. Probably the wrong way to go about it, but it's the thought for the moment.Doggies... Am dying to get one, but I'm never home. (I'm working on keeping my apartment spider alive more than a few days, at the moment.) I work hard and socialize more than is probably good for me, but I think it keeps me young. I am afraid that if I stop to rest, I will lose my momentum, and then I will be one of those people who always say they're "too tired". I never want to use that as an excuse for not doing something, unless it's something like rock climbing or running a marathon... Not that I imagine myself running a marathon tomorrow, but you get the picture...I am a reliable person, and very rarely do I cancel on my friends. Ok, I'll admit, that's one of my pet peeves (yes, you know I love you guys, but COME ON!) I am a very honest person, can't tell a lie for the life of me, even if I wanted to... I sometimes wonder if there is a male version of that out there :) I get very involved w/ my travels. Have had a great opportunity to do alot of it in my earlier years. It was the best way for me to learn about the world. Am planning my next big trip now... Brazil for Carnival 2007!

My Interests

cooking, walking everywhere, biking (when I can't get there by walking), museums, surprising friends w/ little treats, scuba-diving, traveling, rock-climbing (although it's been a while), taking classes on so many things (from boxing to Ikebana, French to salsa dancing, etc.), playing pool, wine-tasting, wine-drinking, learning languages, feng shui, meeting interesting people everywhere I go, meditation, yoga (although I wish I did it more), skin care, running.

I'd like to meet:

Sting. And anyone else who's nearly that cool. But come on, how old is he, and he still has it?

Music:

Too many faves to list. Really, I've gone through every phase, except country. And I'll say that it's a phase I hope to never go through.

Movies:

Cinema Paradiso, The Big Blue, Airplane!, Princess Bride, Cannibal the Musical, Amelie, Before Sunrise/ Sunset, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Television:

the normal stuff in ranking on my TIVO list: Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Sex in the City, BBC, Family Guy, Simpsons.

Books:

Hemingway's Garden of Eden, DaVinci Code (I know, everyone's read it, but it WAS a good book), Memoirs of a Geisha, and probably my most used book on my bookshelf is "Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing". I like reading about natural/ alternative health.

Heroes:

hmmmm.... that's a big question.... i'll have to come back to this...
