Upbeat and melodic Country/Rock, Roni (Veronica) Ross combines soulful heartfelt lyrics with a bluesy rasp vocal style. As early as the age of six, singing in musical class plays...through Honor Choir in high school to her first band at fifteen...the music became an inseparable part of her soul. At eighteen her father was killed in a logging accident...and music would be the place she turned to. "My Dad always believed in me, he was the one who got me into my first band...and somehow I feel he has always been here." With two suitcases, a one way ticket and a heart of hope, Roni moved to the USA from British Columbia, CANADA to pursue her love of singing, and within two weeks was picked as lead vocalist by a band at the time signed by Roadrunner Records, a hard rock group formerly known as Detente, headed by Ross Robinson (producer for Limp Bizkit, Korn, Slipnot)...along the way she discovered the songwriter within. With lyric and melody writing going hand in hand, a new passion to compliment the love of singing had begun. With her roots originating in rock she gravitated toward the music steming from her upbringing in the Country, with artists like Shania Twain, Wynonna Judd, Tim McGraw, and George Strait leading the way in inspiration. Roni now definines her purpose to look beyond genre and packaging, and focus on the core element of music, which should be to just SIMPLY MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD inside. "I have had many successes, and just as many failures...but each time I come through with more respect and love for the Spirit. That light within each of us is so beautifully gentle...yet so powerful.
