Big 8 section marchin' down the field...
The origins of the name "Big 8" is something that has been argued for decades. In 2003 an "unofficial" reunion was held for Big 8 drummers past, present, and for those fortunate enough to embark on their journey during the 2003 season. Some rumors on the name were confirmed, and others were dismissed. All you need to know is that the official title, "Big 8 Drumline" was established in 1954. Between over 400 concerts and recitals a year, performing themselves, teaching, counseling, and mentoring young musicians, they are extremely busy. They greatly appreciate not being bothered about that which does not concern them. Muchas gracias.
