Trumpeter Jon-Paul Frappier has worked with top names like Aretha Franklin, Destiny's Child, Michael Stewart and Alicia Keys. J.P. a native Detroiter, is now calling Nashville home. He is a versatile commercial player, arranger and experienced classical player. In a almost 20 year career he's had several TV appearances include HBO's "Comic Relief," appeared in NBC's "Go For It" musical series, and West Side Story.Jon-Paul has performed over the years with with:Dwele, Aretha Franklin, Destiny's Child, Micheal Stewart, Bernadette Peters, Roy Hargrove, Marcus Belgrave, James Carter, Jeff Coffin, Ellis Marsalis, Luther Allison, Dennis Coffey, The Temptations, The Contours, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Carl Craig, Kid Rock, The Machito Orchestra, Jerry Gonzalez and the list goes on. Jon-Paul has performed in over 22 countries including a concert for Pope John Paul II. Jon-Paul works regularly as lead trumpeter and soloist with "The Dynamites", the "Afinke Orchestra" and at Mt. Zion Baptist in Nashville. on the Classical front he leads The Gabrieli Brass Quintet in Detroit, and recently performed with The Nashville Chamber Orchestra. Some recent recordings include; Marc Broussard, Benita Washington, Will Champlin, and numerous jingles and music library projects.Jon-Paul’s First solo project “Funkybrass” will be released Fall 2007.
