About Me

Biography from 8bitpeoples (2004) Before he began making his own Protracker MODs on the shiny old Amiga 500 (with 512k extra memory) he shared with Paza in 1991, Psilodump made many strange tapes on his double-deck tape-recorder by cutting together short clips of music and speech. After a few years of tracking, he moved on to an Amiga 1200/030/50Hz and OctaMED, connecting synths through a MIDI-Interface and flashy stuff like that. In 1996, Psilodump, together with Paza and Wodan, started doing gabber-live-acts with their Amigas. In 1999 though, he went over to the darkside of PC computers and continued massproducing his tunes from there. In 2000 Psilodump joined the micromusic.net internet community and made himself a name as Psilodumputer. He got featured on the first micromusic offline release, a compilation called "Micro_Superstarz 2000", featuring RePHLeX-stars Cylob, Lektrogirl and Drx (from german atari band Bodenständig 2000), as well as other talents from all over the world. In 2001 Micromusic and Domizil Records released Psilodump(uter)'s first 12" called "Full of SID EP". The same year Psilodump signed to swedish breakbeat-label, Sound of Habib. In 2002-2003 Psilodump released on labels like Q-Records, Kahvi Collective and Sound of Habib. In 2003, Psilodump started a music collective, called The X-Dump, which he wishes to turn into a real label one day. Psilodump has performed in Finland, Estonia, UK, Holland and Switzerland. His music is always changing, and he is not only changing genres and styles, but also blending them and flirting with both underground and mainstream sound, refusing to change his name for the various projects, making it quite hard to keep track of what is going on and what he will do next. Most people find this confusing, others just simply love it.
Biography from R-Syke (2003) Psilodump has been into music creation activities since his childhood. His parents' 60's organ layed the foundations for the sampling, cutting and pasting techniques used in today's productions. Psilodump has been a part of numerous bands and projects; as a drummer of the "Puska-Jussi and The Apinat" and "The Territories" bands. 1994 he bought an audio-sampler to the Amiga, which took the tracking to the next level. In 1995 he started producing, besides of his usual non-classible creations, hardtrance, acid, hardcore and gabber. A live sets crew "The Art of Realistix" was put together. He was also involved in "Penta" and "Pazas".
In late 1998 he was featured on two underground CD-compilations, named "Protest" and "Real Nice Music (for real nice people)". In 1999, he changed direction in music, making more experimental music; electronica, IDM, electro, ambient etc. He also started making more "traditional" percussive techno, but still with a "psilo-touch" ;) The same year, not only made he first three albums in his 476-series, but he also produced an album for his new band, called 1odd. None of these albums have officially been released. In 2000, he made three more albums in the 476-series, he remixed a soul/rnb boyband called Casbah (on their debute single).
He has been involved in an online music-community, called Micromusic.net and has made a few online releases, and got to be a part of their first offline-release, a CD-compilation called "Micro_Superstarz 2000" - this was his first official release ever!
In 2001, he got signed by the Swedish breakbeat-label; Sound of Habib. Later same year, it was time for Micromusic's second offline-release, which was a vinyl-release of his earlier Micromusic online-release "You're so full of SID". The 12" was simply called "Full of SID EP", featuring a bunch of remixes, voted by the micro-community. In 2002, his first 12" on Sound of Habib was released (Gamma EP, SOHR008), and later same year he released a 12" on Q-Records (Tangens, Q-REC 009).
He has done about 32 electronic gigs since 1996, mostly at illegal underground rave-parties, but also at larger events like the Arvika Festival in 2002, huge rave parties in Finland (like Technetium 2002, with Chris Liebing, Neil Landstrumm etc), aswell as a bunch of Micromusic Microfestivals, (England, Swizerland and Holland).
Biography from Sound of Habib (2002) Techno/breakbeat/IDM-producer and micro_superstar psilodump (aka j.panic and psilodumputer) lives in his studio in a dark basement somewhere and claims that most of his inspiration is subconscious. He avoids using his real name and the vibes emerging from his dark cellar is as secret and funky as is his personality. Since childhood he has been intrigued by noise and experimented as a toddler with home stereo equipment and pause buttons, creating mystic mixtapes with strange sounds and cryptic speech.
In 1991 he got his first computer and continued his musical explorations. He produces hundreds of tracks each year and is always trying to find ways to discover new aspects in the science of music and noise. His future releases on Sound of Habib Recordings will most probably redefine breakbeat as we know it and push its boundaries beyond the horizon. A lot of uncharted musical terrain still awaits for captain Psilodump!
Biography from Mandarin.nu (????)Using numerous different pseudonymes, Psilodump produces almost every possible kind of music ranging from electro and IDM to breakbeats and playful percussive techno at a pace of around 100 tracks a year. Being open to practically every kind of music and not limiting himself to any specific formula, his adventures outside the electronic music scene have led him to producing jazz and even as far as remixing a commercial boyband!
Psilodump begun performing live at various events year 1996. Apart from playing in his native Sweden (events ranging from small underground venues to the Pluto-stage at Arvikafestivalen, one of the biggest festivals of the Swedish summer) his performances have also been witnessed in countries such as Finland, Holland, Switzerland, Estonia and UK.

Biography from The X-Dump (2007) Psilodump doesn't like fish, but he sometimes catches a few in great secrecy and hides them in total strangers pants. Why? We tell you!
Biography from Psilodump (2007) I... um... made a few tunes and then... I forgot...
