Pretty soon I will be sitting in an orange benched booth in a roadside diner, drinking a bottomless black cup of filter coffee from one of those gross drip thingys. This will occur after I have checked out of my roadside motel where I spent the night drinking whiskey and smoking Marlboros lying in bed with the ashtray on my chest. My burnt coffee will preferably be poured into my chipped white enamel drinking vessel by Dolores, a woman in her mid to late 40's, with a beehive bleached blonde do, blue eyeshadow, frosted nails and a penchant for incessant chewing of gum. She will of course, possess a beautiful country singing voice and dispense worldy advice to all and sundry. Afterwards, before hitting the road, I shall need to fill up on some 'gas.’ Here, I might clear my Cadillac of all the ‘trash’ that has accumulated before taking off on THIS…….
