Anything and anyone that can put a smile on my soul is of interest to me
• The purveyors of truth and the pursuers' of excellence and knowledge of self
• My homegirl Flo once asked me what type of woman I'd like to spend the rest of my life with. I thought about it for a while and here it is:
I want a quarky, artsy, off tilt, literary, sexy, weirdo, mad scientist genuis chick who can walk her ass off in some five inch heels or Claire Huxtable.
• The Buddhist monks whom patiently and meticulously created the Mandala shown below.
Mandala, a Sanskrit word that means "circle," is a sacred diagram created in sand or paint. It symbolizes the pure, perfected universe, and provides a visual framework for establishing feelings of peace, well-being and wholeness. Composed of millions of grains of dyed sand, the mandala is believed to have a positive effect on all who see it as each particle personifies goodness. Created by Buddhist monks and nuns, the mandala is part of initiation ceremonies -- accompanied by other ritual art objects, costumed dancers, music and chanting -- that grant the initiate the privilege to study and practice the teachings of a sutra or tantra, sacred texts that are guides to visualizing a particular deity.

Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" takes me to Haiti then brings me to tears everytime i hear it,
Black Star's "Brown skin lady" makes me leave my home each and every day in search of her, Mr. Telephone man by New Edition makes me go to a lonely uncomfortable self-conscious place that no fly suit or shades can ever truly cover up, Talib Kweli's "Get by" speaks to the days of my life, ke-m pa sote by Boukman Eksperyans doesn't allow me to ever give up, Outkast's "So fresh, So clean" Makes me look in the mirror one last time before i walk out the door, Marvin Gaye's "what's going on" makes me talk to every young person willing to listen and even those who aren't willing to listen, and Public Enemy's "fight the power" well that one is self explanatory
Music inspires me to exist...
Below is a special playlist in honor of my new Goddaughter Sheridan born 9/21/07, Victoria Jolie Simone born 9/24/07, my nephew Mason, and my Three other wonderful (most of the time) God kids - Gavroch, Bethsaida, and now my second youngest Darnelle.
To understand me you have to understand where I come from. Below is the music of my home, my spirit, and my people. Dance - it will make you feel better.
I kept getting questioned on why this section wasn't filled out before, the reason for me was simple in it's complexity (if that makes any sense), because I couldn't keep this list shorter than 30 pages even if I tried , movies were and in some ways probably still are my life, but I'll put it like this every movie I've ever saw holds a significantly emotional place in my heart whether it's fear of the thought of ever having to sit through it again or joyous jubilation at the tingle I got while watching what in hip hop they call the break (that moment in the record that's better than any other, the one you want to extend for hours and play over and over) well the same applies for me and movies or the place of appreciation for those movies that after seeing inspired my personality, style, and pursuit of excellence and knowledge of self. Comedies, documentaries, porn with chemistry, action, romance (got a thing for English romantic comedies, a bit wittier in my view), suspense (especially the ones where I can't actually figure out the end in the first 30 mins and the ending actually still make sense), Biopics, they all get play in my realm of visual reality.
P.S. I stomp my feet and scream "SEXUAL CHOCOLATE!" After amazing sex.
99.2 % of the programming on HBO, IFC, BBC America, and Sundance live inside my head and hold pitch meetings in my right ear.
P.S. I know every word to every episode of the cosby show.
