About Me

I'm an ex-Pentacostal Christian, ex-Muslim, free-spirited witch with no religious affiliation just... you know, flirtations for the fun of it. Basically, I'm an agnostic with slightly Wiccan leanings.
I love to dance... mostly ballroom and beladhi, but any sort is fun.
I'm into all sorts of art, but my special talents are in writing in general and poetry especially. My one published book so far is a memoir of my time living under the Islamic Regime of Iran as an American Muslimah and my escape from both Iran and Islam. It's called Lost in Foreign Passions, written under my then-married name of Debra Kamza.
I've been known to toy with magic and, of course, am interested in all things termed "paranormal" or "supernatural" though I think the terms themselves are wrong. There's really nothing unnatural or above nature about true magic.
I'm interested in the politics of disarming Islam and protecting from its predations and deceptions. I can be quite passionate on the subject and my husband finds it very amusing at times. Oh well!
My first husband, and Iranian shit... uhm... Shi-ite, stole my first born son from me when he was 10 months old and I only got contact back with him when he was 19 years old and found out about me through stealthy means. He wants to come to America to live someday but was raised by a Hizbollah and refuses to go through Special Registration, so it may not be possible for him. As for me, much as I'd like to, I don't dare go to see him in Iran because under the Sharia law practiced there and in other Islamic nation, apostates from Islam have to be executed, by their own families if not the government itself. It's something to consider if ever you are so foolish to consider converting to Islam... that, and the lack of civil rights for women. I can only hope to someday meet my son in person under better circumstances.
Meanwhile, I am mother to two American children, Amelia, born in 1987, and Andrew, born in 1989, who are really pretty perfect kids... or close to it anyway. And I'm a granmother now (so young!)to my daughter Amy and son-in-law Mikey's little guy, Levi Alexander, who's a real cutie. See?
..
Other than dancing, reading, writing, and art, two other favorite pasttimes of mine are dressing up and going to festivals and taking lots of digital pictures of all things bright and beautiful. Below are some my husband and I have taken around our beautiful Washington state:

I'd like to meet:

I'd someday like to meet my long lost eldest son Adrian (sans Islam), fellow apostates from Islam, my dear Saudi friend, Lily Layla, fellow artists and writers, and Julian McMahon of course.I must admit, I'm really only interested in talking to people who write blogs and who, likewise, read mine and/or whom I actually have a lot in common with. There's somehow more thought that goes into writing a blog than in idle chit chat. Idle chit chat gets boring quick. Did I mention I LOVE to read? I really really do and I really really adore people who write good things to read.
