Karen Bishko at Clapham Grand - Who's crying now

"Humourous, tragic and engaging, Karen's lyrics are nothing short of shit hot. Her music is from the heart and will speak to a whole generation."
Jason Orange, Take That
"The most important female singer/songwriter in Britain today: I am a massive fan of Karen Bishko, her stories are more entertaining than any fem-pop I've heard for years. The USA has Rickie Lee Jones and Jenny Lewis: Notting Hill has Karen"
Billy Reeves BBC London 94.9
"Her lyrics are by far the best on myspace"
Nick Heyward

Once upon a time there was a little girl called Karen. She lived in a nice house and attended a lovely school in a London Suburb.

At 5 she dreamed of getting married and having babies.

At 7, her Daddy took her brother instead of her, to a Kate Bush concert that she REALLY wanted to go to (men disappoint sometimes).

At 10 she dreamed of getting married and having babies.

At 16 she went out with the prettiest boy in all of North London. He told her a few lies.

At 21 she was going out with one of the most famous pop stars in the land.

At 22 he broke her heart.

At 24 she met her Knight (pilot) in shining armour. They were going to get married, but maybe she wasn't as good to him as she could have been?

At 28 he slept with an Air Hostess. They went for counselling for a year but in the end they broke up.

At 29 she dreamed of getting married and having a lovely family. Her ex married the air hostess and had a baby boy.

At 30 (something) she's single.Things don't always turn out the way you plan.

These are the bare bones and inside are some of her stories.

Karen previously worked as a portrait artist , but had always writen songs. When Gary Kemp and Jess Bailey heard her songs, they encouraged her to continue spilling her heart and focus on her music.

She has also recently been in the studio with producer Stephen Lironi.

Karen is also working on a musical TV show called "Popstars and Pilots" which has received some media attention recently, and she is also writing a musical called "Therapy Rocks". Please contact Karen for details.
