Courtney Criswell, on a bad day, is better than most female performers in the Top 40 of the last 5 years. She has a powerhouse voice, classy arrangements and a wonderful balance between the heartfelt lyric and the tongue-in-cheek lyric.Criswell, a Virginia Beach, VA native made her living as the lead singer in a 4-piece rock band called Lucky Town for 8 years. As a band, they released 4 albums , “Welcome to Lucky Town,†“Anyway I’m Fine,†“Love Overdub†and “No Luxury.†They toured all along the east coast, playing 200+ shows a year. In 2003, they were voted Best Unsigned Band by Rolling Stone Magazine. In 2005, Criswell moved to New York and has been writing and performing solo ever since. Her music is influenced by early Aimee Mann, Patty Griffin, the Bangles and Liz Phair. She has actually been the opening act for Liz Phair and Patty Griffin among others. Currently, Criswell plays as an acoustic duo in New York and is in the process of recording an EP.-HITT Music
