About Me
"We're going to play some songs . . . with music," Jared Totten says sheepishly into the microphone as THE LIVINGSTONS take the stage for yet another night of rock. As the band pounds into their first number though, you realize that will be the only timidity you're going to get from Jared tonight, or the rest of the band for that matter. Forming in the summer of 2003, THE LIVINGSTONS hit the scene with both guns blazing. Though all had been friends for many years and all had been involved in music previously, this was the first collaborative effort that the quartet would make. And an effort it has been. In the short time that they have called themselves THE LIVINGSTONS, Jared Totten, Josh Kidney, Anthony Estrada, and John Wooten have seen their share of ups and downs. The ups would include playing with bands such as Third Day, The OC Supertones, Superchick, Hawk Nelson, Falling Up, Storyside B, Everyday Sunday, Paul Wright, Casting Pearls, Sky Harbor, and Calibretto, as well as signing with the artist development group Fuselage, and recording with Grammy winning engineer Eric Delegard. The downs include destroyed vehicles, broken engagements, and the absence of their drummer as he was stationed in Korea and Iraq with the Marines. Through it all however, THE LIVINGSTONS have persevered and grown to be a driving force in the Christian rock scene. Having played 100+ shows within their first year and a half after formation and 100 and counting since, the band knows how to move an audience.
