The origins for ZFL started way back in 2000 when the brothers Burton, along with Bone and a vocalist formed a punk four piece, with the pleasant title of Martins C*nt, after a short while the band went their own separate ways.
James met Craig when the two became housemates and bonded over music, and fairly soon the 'unique' duo, 'Masters of the Universe' was born. Bone made occasional appearances with them until James went to Austria for three months.
Whilst James was away Craig staged a solo show, and asked Bone and Glenn to provide Guitar and percussion for one track, and asked floss to add some new vocals. This new foursome was generally well received, and started jamming regularly and playing whole shows.
After three months had passed James came back from Austria with his arm in a cast, and picked up his guitar to start filling the lead slot in ZFL.
After six months of fully acoustic instruments and percussion supplied by a range of bongo's and a tambourine, The band took on a heavier sound when they started performing with electric lead guitar, and drums, and they are often noted for their constantly progressing and completely original sound.
So far ZFL has gained a popular following with the local fan base and made a name for themselves amongst the regular local bands.
