...FOUR bored people became FOUR bored friends became FOUR bandmates...
Furniture Sound were born from some friends that see hundreds of live bands a month and thought 'lets have a go'. Taking inspiration from what they hear and what they see means that there is a real mixture of styles flying around. Their mission is to write some tunes and have some fun live, which involves moving, shouting and accidental spitting.
Catch them if you can.
"In a scene where the most successful local bands have a synthesizer or a singer with a horizontal fringe, Furniture Sound are looking to escape from this pattern. The Alt Rock trio from T-Wells cite influences from Joeyfat, Refused and Biffy Clyro....
Music for kinds who are too cool to know what cool is..."

"The challenge with defining furniture sound is simple. It is tricky, nay impossible, or at least implausible, certainly questionable with a touch of the unlikely.
The reasons being thus; I don’t know what type of furniture it is. I’m sure a table makes a different noise to a chair or a cupboard. Is it wood? Is it plastic? Does it have those rubber cap things on the bottoms of its legs? What surface is it being pulled along? Is it even being pulled?? Does anyone care? With this quandary aside Furniture Sound are a beautifully sculptured piece of panache. It’s a little like a roman legionnaire reclining on a sofa being hand fed grapes by some steaming sexy siren, but with obvious jazz fused interludes. Hurl a bunch of hunks with instruments and ‘what not’ into the mix, and you’re almost on your way to enlightenment, You can feel the yellow bricks of that wondrous road beneath your feet, but your shoe laces are untied and you have no sun cream.Max, John, that drummer bloke, and now ‘smooth as coal on a doves back’ Seb, make a motley horde of bandits. One which could rival any of the merry men, and possibly take on King Kong himself (or herself, do we actually know the sex of King Kong?). They are a tight team, they pack an extreme thump, and they mean business. It goes hand in hand then, that the live shows are a gem. A diamond in the rough if you will. A diamond in the rough, but the rough has been smoothed out with butter, and the diamond is actually toast."
